Is there a Future For Bio-Based Batteries?

In this illustration project for SCAD's ILLU-701 Illustration Techniques class, I depicted two endearing crabs deeply engrossed in researching ways to contribute to the well-being of our planet. Inspired by an article discussing the potential benefits of utilizing bio-based resources, the crabs are shown exploring the concept of using Chitin, a molecule found in shellfish, insects, and fungi. This molecule has the potential to yield valuable chemicals that could serve as sustainable alternatives to harmful materials. However, the project also raises thought-provoking questions about the potential impact on biodiversity and whether the increased harvest of these organisms would offset the current environmental effects.
